Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. Not only did he save the Union in his defence of Little Round Top after which my yacht is named I should add at Gettysburg but he was times I think Governor of Maine. He led the surrender ceremony at Appomatox and was the inspiration for the quotsalutequot the Union army gave to the surrendering Confederates, beginning the long road to reconcilliation. Hes my personal hero anyway!
